Australian government emphases on the protection of the interests of international students, it is the first country that enacted the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act, the Act protects the rights of international students studying in Australia, including providing a placement and refund service for international students, which is activated in the event that the institution is unable to teach the student course.

If a student is under 18 years of age, one of their parents can apply for a student guardian visa to come to Australia; if a student is over the age of 18, the partner can apply to stay with him/her in Australia.

Australian government allows international students to work in their spare time , students can work  40 hours fortnightly during tuition weeks , there is no time limit  on school holidays.  Undergraduates and Master by Course Work graduates can get two -year work visa, Master by Research graduates can get a three-year work visa and PhD graduates can apply for a four-year work visa.
