
Subclass Options
There are several classes of student visas for Australia - the one you need depends on the type of study (eg: English language course, graduate degree, vocational training, higher education, etc.) you are planning to undertake.

Subclass 570, You might be able to get this visa if you are enrolled as a student in a registered English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS).

Subclass 571, applies to primary and secondary school courses.

Subclass 572, applies to students enrolled in a registered vocational education and training course., or students enrolled in a registered course for the award of advanced diploma.

Subclass 573, applies to higher education courses. This includes bachelor or associate degree, a graduate certificate or graduate diploma, a higher education diploma or advanced diploma.

Subclass 574, applies to masters degree by research or a doctoral degree.

Subclass 575, applies to non-award studies and course or components of a course (other than ELICOS) that does not lead to an award.

Subclass 576, you might be able to get this visa if you are an international student sponsored by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade or the Department of Defence.

Guardian visa (subclass 580), applies to the guardian of an international student younger than 18 years of age studying in Australia on a student visa.
